Mindfulness
“Mindfulness is the miracle by which we master and restore ourselves.”
– Thich Nhat Hanh
The skillful means by which we can practice mindfulness include:
meditation, mindful walking, conscious breathing, and awareness of the present moment.
The practice of Mindfulness is a goal for our everyday existence, not only during times of meditation.

As defined by the Community of Mindful Living
“Mindfulness, as taught and practiced since the time of Buddha, means dwelling fully in the present moment, aware of what is going on within and around us. Mindfulness helps us take care of and improve the situation of our lives and our society.”
“If one really wants to keep one’s consciousness alive (… I’ll use the term ‘mindfulness’ to refer to keeping one’s consciousness alive to the present reality), one must practice right now in one’s daily life, not only during meditation sessions.”
“Whenever your mind becomes scattered, use your breath as the means to take hold of your mind again……. Breath is a tool. Breath itself is mindfulness.”
